What exactly does a doula do?

A doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support to birthing people and their families. We offer comfort measures, help navigate medical decisions, and provide a steady, reassuring presence throughout the entire process.

Birth Support

When do you join us during labor?

Typically, I join you when you are in active labor and feel the need for additional support. We stay in close contact during early labor, and I arrive at your home or the hospital whenever you feel ready for my presence.

Logistics

What happens if you can't attend my birth?

While it is rare, I always have a trusted backup doula from the Flutter & Bloom network ready. You will have the opportunity to meet or speak with them beforehand so you feel comfortable and secure.

Postpartum

How long do you support us after birth?

Depending on your selected package, support may continue into the fourth trimester through personalized postpartum visits focused on recovery, newborn care, family adjustment, or even meal preparation.
